The VacStrip, Zipper and Full Mesh (Storage) bags or rolls work with the PRO260, as well as all other suction-type vacuum packaging machines. The VacMaster Chamber Vacuum Pouches will NOT work with the PRO260 or any suction machine. Likewise, any bag without a mesh panel will not work with a suction machine such as the PRO260.
2. Why is there a strip of black tape across my seal bar? Do I need to remove it?
No! That tape is the Teflon tape that covers the heat wire on your seal bar, thus protecting your bags from direct contact and melting. Do not remove the tape. If you have already done so, call customer service to purchase a new piece to replace it.
3. My PRO260 won't draw a vacuum. It runs but does not vacuum and seal. What's the most likely cause?
Sometimes the lid will have a very slight tilt that prevents a good vacuum prior to sealing. This is caused by the machine locking down solid in front. To overcome this, place slight pressure on each side of the back of the lid as you begin the vacuum process. Hold for 5 – 10 seconds and your bag should vacuum and seal fine.
4. I cannot locate my accessory port on the PRO260. Can you help me locate it?
There is technically no accessory port on the PRO260. The port is internal and the vacuum accessory hose is permanently connected to it. Open the small door located on the right side of your PRO260 and extend the hose for use.
5. How do I use the bag cutter on my PRO260?
Open the lid and pull the bag off the roll from over the top of the roll. Close the lid. Do not put the bag through the slot where the cutter blade is located. Make sure the bag extends outside of the storage area from under the front of the lid. Slide the cutter blade across the machine to cut through the bag. Seal one end of the bag using the "Seal" button and you’re ready to add the contents and vacuum package.
6. What is the difference between external suction machines and chamber machines?
External suction machines suck out the air from the front of the bag, and once the air is sucked out completely at the end of the cycle, the bag is sealed and the process is complete. Chamber machines evacuate air from the chamber, leaving the air pressure equal both inside and outside the pouch and keeping liquids securely inside the pouch.
